Through a variety of philanthropic and social activities, The Gratifying Gamma Xi Colony of Sigma Beta Xi, Inc. inspires its members to adopt important values such as leadership, empathy and ambition, and to always strive for excellence.
Chartered April 6, 2018 in Coral Springs, FL by Soror Daphne "Gold" Reaves, The Gamma Xi Colony is dedicated to making a positive difference in our community, inspiring others to excel, creating lifelong bonds, and consistently giving back to the community.
Our Colony Motto: "A virtuous woman's beauty is not in her face, it's in the light she exudes when she serves others"
By epitomizing the colony motto, our goal is to enrich the lives of women, families and the community by promoting service, self-improvement, and higher education.

On the sixth day of April 2003 two women, one in Texas, the other in Tennessee, decided to create an organization despite the distance between them. They worked long days and nights to form an organization that catered to Mothers aspiring to improve themselves and their children. They wanted to design a sisterhood promoting self-improvement, community service, and higher education. They also wanted to create a sisterhood for women to express and share their joys and pains of motherhood, and care and concern for children and women's health and rights issues. Sigma Beta Xi Sorority was created with all of these things in mind; and Her Story began.

The two founders, donned The Guiding J.E.W.E.L.S., laid the foundation for this illustrious organization. Guiding J.E.W.E.L. Kapreia Sharif and Guiding J.E.W.E.L. Karon Wisdom. Both toiled long and hard researching Greek life, its origin and other organizations. They recruited a few friends to help the along the way, these two women, also revered the purpose for Sigma Beta Xi. They were donned as the Sapphire J.E.W.E.L.S. With the assistance of these two intelligent and dedicated women, Sigma Beta Xi Sorority Incorporated became a reality.

WHAT IS SIGMA BETA XI SORORITY?
Sigma Beta Xi is an organization, which started with the vision for true sisterhood between all women but specifically for women with children.
WHAT IS YOUR MISSION?
Our mission is to promote self-improvement, community service, and higher education. To create a sisterhood for women to express and share their joys and pains of motherhood, cares and concerns for the health issues and rights of women and children.
DO YOU HAVE TO BE A MOTHER TO BE A MEMBER?
NO. Being a Mother is not a prerequisite for membership, you must simply be concerned about the issues that affect women and children.
DO I HAVE TO BE A COLLEGE STUDENT IN ORDER TO BE A MEMBER?
NO. We offer several different ways to become a member. An education is very important and it is the foundation for many things, but there are several ways of being educated and what suits one may not work for another. Which is why we have community chapters.
HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR MEMBERSHIP?
We look to recruit women 18 years and up.
HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER OF SIGMA BETA XI?
You can request an application online or in person at an interest meeting. Once receive it, we will contact you and let you know what steps to take.
DOES SIGMA BETA XI HAVE A PLEDGE PROCESS?
YES. We do have a process. A pledge is needed to help build bonds between all new members and all existing members. WE IN NO FORM ALLOW HAZING OF ANY OF OUR NEW AND/OR POTENTIAL MEMBERS.
DO YOU HAVE ANY CHAPTERS OUTSIDE OF FLORIDA?
Yes. Sigma Beta Xi is growing rapidly and new chapters are being chartered quarterly. Please see our chapter map for our listed chapters. To find out how to start a chapter at your school or in your community, please contact us at the Regional Director in your area. Our administrative staff will get back with you promptly, and provide you with further instructions.
IS IT EXPENSIVE TO JOIN SIGMA BETA XI?
NO. Sigma Beta Xi is acutely aware of how important it is to balance money and finances as it applies to our standards of living for today’s woman and we are pleased to say that our expenses for membership are reasonable. We offer options that will work for every woman, whether she is a college student or a stay at home mother.
HOW MUCH TIME IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO PLEDGE?
We know that every woman has a life outside of the organization which is why we are willing to work around the schedules of all pledges in order to leave enough time for them to fellowship with one another.
WHAT IS GAINED FROM BEING IN A SORORITY?
Sorority life offers something different for each member. From meeting new people, volunteering in the community, to having a true sense of sisterhood, there are unlimited benefits. When you join a sorority you form life long bonds with the women you come to know as your sisters. Often times, these ladies will be the ones standing as your bridesmaids at your wedding, or even be Godmother to your child, but most importantly, she is there to share all of your ups and downs. She is your sister for life.
